[margin: the Holocron would teach him the long history of the Jedi ... stuff he doesn't know.] It is Vima who brings him his food, and befriends him. She sees a ray of good in him, and uses her own power to move him back towards the Light. [margin: NEED A PARALLEL STORY ABOUT VIMA SUNRIDER during the time Ulic is imprisoned. It should connect to the other [struck: uncertain: known?] elements, esp: Yavin III, Naga Sadow, the warlords of Onderon, + the Jedi Knights] [margin: * {see P72.] * [inserted: As time passes] [struck: The year over], Ulic [struck: is] changed, although not completely redeemed. [margin: Released from captivity he helps the old Jedi & his apprentices deal with marauders led by the [uncertain: reigning?] Dark lord.] There needs to be a series of action scenes in which he is put to the test, and makes the great sacrifice that releases him from the grip of the past. [margin: [What if the [uncertain: reigning?] DOTS hunts Ulic w/[uncertain: intention?] of killing him as a rival ?]] * Vima Sunrider, and the old Jedi, know that Ulic has been made whole. But to the Republic and to the Jedi, he is still an outcast, even a wanted man. [margin: This needs to fit w/the above stuff.] * There is a terrible attack upon the lands of the old Jedi, by [struck: a group that wants Ulic dead. Perhaps it is a group of bounty hunters, working for the Republic, or better yet], the brother warlords who still want the head of the old Jedi. (They might also know about the bounty on Ulic.) The old Jedi is killed, and so are many of his apprentices. But Ulic and Vima escape, and Masterless, Ulic decides to take up the life of a wandering Jedi. [margin: and to hunt down the new DOTS — and the bad warlords as well.] Vima has the choice of returning to her mother, but she wants to go with Ulic, as his warrior companion.
