[circled: 60] It could be asked whether Lucas himself has a coherent vision of the SW Saga, beyond the simplistic [uncertain: events?] of the three films (ANH, ESB, ROTJ). [struck: All] Even these three films coalesce around images, and "bits" or idea-sequences involving interesting characters + special effects. The "plot", such as it is, is a pastiche of old storybook themes, gathered from dozens of sources, and injected with a massive dose of enthusiasm and film-making skills. One doesn't come away from ROTJ with the sense one has watched a drama of great and profound themes, despite the mythological element. Indeed the watery ending, in which the great Darth Vader is "redeemed" is unconvincing and feels "off". This character, who has [struck: [illegible]] enslaved + [uncertain: murder?] millions, is let off with a smile and a tear -- as long as he showed a bit of heart and a bit of love for his son (who he had earlier condemned to darkness, + whose arm he had severed) -- he is allowed to join the great Master Yoda + Obi-wan Kenobi, in the valhalla of light beyond death. Dramatically, and mythologically, one would have expected a greater element of justice at the end. This mass murderer could have paid some some heavy dues.--
